Optimizing your seller profile

When selecting your username and profile picture, choose one that is reflective of your brand, such as a logo, or the type of inventory you sell.

This motivates buyers to view your profile and follow you. Leverage your bio to provide more information about your business.

Setting up your Play

Follow these tips to create an optimized Play that maximizes Player odds and increases participation:

Manage your Plays wisely

Launch one Play at a time for similar items and limit yourself to a maximum of three open Plays at any given time to increase demand.

Select a shipping method with tracking

When calculating the shipping cost to factor into your item price, pick a service that uses tracking since this is a requirement for all Plays. We recommend going with USPS Priority Mail, or an equivalent service, if the package is under 70 lbs. Use the rate calculator to estimate how much you’ll need for postage.

Use an entry fee recommendation

On the Structure your Play screen, select one of the Playfora Entry Fee Recommendations to fill your Play quickly.

Use strong keywords

For your Play Title, always include the main keywords your Player might use to search for your item, like brand, model name, size, and retail category. Example: Nike Jordan 1, Patent Gold, Men's Shoes, Size 11. 


The Play Details field is the place for model numbers, UPC codes, unique qualities, and your item’s condition, including any flaws or defects.

Take sharp photos

Before you upload photos of your item, be sure you’ve snapped shots against a clutter-free background, using good lighting, and show multiple angles. Images that are cropped as a square (1:1 aspect ratio) and have padding around the main object in the image are displayed the best.

When you get to the Select your Play-4-Good Partner field, choose a charity that speaks to you. At the end of the Play, we want you to feel good about making a sale and a difference.

Promoting your Play

Once your Play is live, share your Profile or Play Link on your most active social selling channels, get people pumped up, and tell them how Playfora is changing the shopping game. 

Aim to make your Play their first experience on Playfora. With our Influencer Program, this secures you a lifetime commission of 1% from their total spend on the platform. 

For instance, attracting 10k users who spend an average of $250 per month could result in a monthly commission of $25k for you.

No cost participation

Create a giveaway when listing instead of a traditional Play to draw in first-time users, and promote the Free Spot option. This is a chance to win a Spot in the Play with no purchase necessary.

Highlight how they are contributing to charity with their Entry Fee and ask the community what non-profits they would like you to choose in future Plays.

In addition to the chance to win a Free Spot, all Players can score Bonus Spots for landing on lucky numbers. This means they won’t be charged at checkout if the spot they choose is a Bonus Spot. It’s a game within a game!

Shipping best practices

Delight Play winners with your packing and shipping skills. This helps ensure your items arrive safely and encourages repeat business.

Think about your presentation

Avoid reusing materials that will cheapen the unboxing experience.

Pack your item carefully and securely

Use a box or envelope that has enough room for the packing materials to protect your item in transit. Also, reinforce seams and edges with tape.

Include a return address

Make sure your label includes a return address in the event that your item can’t be delivered or gets lost along the way.

Mail your item quickly

Always ship your item within two business days of the close of the Play.

Send tracking details

Message your winner with tracking details so they know when to expect their item.
